Call for entries launched for 2008 Motivation Awards

The event is endorsed by both the VA and PIF. It will, for the first time, allow prepaid professionals to celebrate the best in prepaid across a range of industry categories. And you will have the opportunity to influence who wins by voting for the nomination you think should win each of five Prepaid Awards.

The evening will commence with a champagne reception, offering you the opportunity to view the award entries.  Before heading into dinner in the Ball Room, you will be invited to vote for your personal winner in each category. The category winners will be announced after dinner, before the evening entertainment commences.

This promises to be an enjoyable and enlightening evening, offering you the opportunity to spend time with clients and colleagues reflecting on the best that the industry has to offer from around the world.  There is an early bird price for tables, and as a VA Member, you are entitled to a further discount on top of this.

For further information about the evening, and to book your table, please contact Polly Burlingham at polly.burlingham@prepaidawards.com.

Prepaid Gala and Gallery

The inaugural Prepaid Gala and Gallery is taking place at the Sheraton Park Lane on October 22nd 2008, during the Prepaid Cards International Summit 2008.

The call for entries has been launched for the 2008 Motivation Awards, which are being run in association with the Institute of Sales Promotion.

The awards recognise excellence and creativity in programmes that encourage and inspire employees, channel partners and other third parties to improve their performance, promote sales or change behaviour.

Many of these programmes will use vouchers, gift cards and stored-value solutions for motivating staff and customers.

According to The Va’s own data, 45 per cent of voucher and gift card sales go through the corporate channel.

These are the only annual awards for this sector, which has become a core discipline in the areas of marketing, sales, human resources and general management.

There are 21 categories covering different objectives, such as improving sales and customer service, and different sectors and audiences, such as call centres and third-party and channel programmes.

Categories of most relevance to the voucher, gift card and stored-value solutions sector are those for best new product and best use of product, although nearly all the categories relate to programmes that may use vouchers, gift cards or stored-value solutions as a reward.

Programmes may have been created in-house or with specialist agencies and need to have run at some stage between January 1, 2007 and April 30, 2008.

The deadline for final submissions is September 18, 2008, and the awards ceremony will be held in London in November 2008.

The awards are this year being run in partnership with the ISP, which has become a significant player in the motivation sector through its work developing the ISP Motivation Diploma.

Sales Promotion and SalesPromo.co.uk will be media partners, emphasising how motivating people at work is a key part of promoting sales.
